*At 6 weeks his social smile emerged, although he's being stingy with the laugh despite my best efforts at identifying his most ticklish spots. His best smiles are still when he's dozing off as depicted here:
*At 7 weeks he decided to sleep through the night, a feat for which I can take NO credit. I, of course, didn't sleep a wink because I was sure something was terribly wrong with him when he didn't wake up screaming 2 hours after falling asleep. Somehow he was undisturbed by my compulsive checking which consisted of opening the door in a most stealth-like manner, tiptoeing into the room and hovering over his bed trying to detect the rise and fall of his chest. As it turns out, it's hard to detect such minute motion when it's pitch black! Night vision goggles would've been useful. Needless to say, he woke up refreshed and rested the next morning...I was a wreck.
*At 8 weeks he discovered that his fingers are more fun to suck than some lousy pacifier. I know mom, I've been warned and your words, "it's a heck of a lot easier to take away a pacifier than an appendage" resonate in my head each time I hear him chomping away at his fingers. You have every right to say, "I told you so" when he's 16, still sucking his thumb, and nicknamed "buck" (and we're broke from the orthodontia expenses).
Here he is trying to figure things out:
*At 10 weeks, his parents made one final attempt at taming his luscious locks. As you can see from the following picture, our efforts were futile and will not be attempted again in the near future.
*Believe it or not, I have actually dressed him in something other than pj's once or twice in his two months of life. I just don't have any pictures to prove it.

ADORABLE! And since you are talking about thumbs up...I give you a thumbs up for lots of times in comfy jammies! Nothing wrong with that! 2 and a half!
Caleb is so cute! I love reading your posts and seeing what you guys are up to. Squire finds your posts very entertaining as well. : )
Hey! Savannah is a thumb sucker too! Yeah for braces! Actually despite what EVERYONE will tell you, they make for great babies because they are the best self-soothers. So you can worry about the teeth thing later. He is such a cutie!
He's so dang cute! Henry's hair was just like that, and I let it stick up. Now when I look at pictures, though, I wonder why I didn't just give it a tiny trim. It really doesn't matter, but when anyone else's hair gets too long or looks funny, we get/give a haircut. Why are babies different?
As for thumb sucking, a baby who can self-sooth, no matter with thumb or bink, is WAY happier than those who can't. I've had both. Also, Chris' uncle who is a dentist says it's a myth that thumb-sucking causes kids to need braces. He says it is 99% genetic. Caleb -- enjoy that yummy thumb!
Very cute little guy. Nothing wrong with jammies. I like to think that they are more comfy than jeans. Well actually there is no thinking about it. Jammies are more comfy than jeans:) Glad you are doing well.

He is sooo sweet. I can't stand it. He looks so much like both of you (but mostly mommy through my narrow vision). And I have to echo your mother (only b/c Greg would want me to..) Give him a passifier instead of that thumb :) I thought it was soooo cute the couple times Tyson found his thumb.. Greg did not think it as cute.
Hahahahaha at him sleeping through the night but not you :D That doesn't really change with experience either - you'll do it with every baby you have :)
He's so adorable!!!
Okay. He is seriously cute. Do you notice how we all have said this? We are not kidding. He is adorable!! What a little doll! I am dying to meet him. The thumb sucking is even cute. I know it's hard to break them of it, but kids just do their own thing in that department. And what I wouldn't give if Christian would have taken a thumb or ANYTHING to calm him down. Ohhhhh, no. Just nursing. I mean, I loved nursing after the first horrible 8 months, but there were times when that just wasn't possible or convenient, and I wished he could be comforted some other way. Did I mention that he's cute?
